Zaragoza, San Sebastián and Biarritz

°

 Oh, check that!

Wikipedia knows more:

As of 2020 the Greenwich meridian passes through eight countries
from north to south:United Kingdom (specifically, only England),
France, Spain, Algeria, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Ghana

It also passes through Antarctica (only touching Queen Maud Land,
the territorial claim of Norway).

It crosses the maritime Exclusive Economic Zones of:
Greenland (Denmark), Norway (via proximity to Svalbard,
Jan Mayen Island and the Norwegian mainland in the North Atlantic
and Bouvet Island in the South Atlantic)
(Wikipedia)

The roads were in good condition and pretty empty.

There were a couple of areas where the storks had
built their homes on top of the electricity towers!
I Juan was loo slow to get better pic with my mobile.

A quick lunch break in Zaragoza was not possible.
This town has so many so cool things to offer.
Splendid churches, exhibitions, cute bars.
Yes, we did go in here:
Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Pilar.

Yes, Goya lived here.

1746-1775.

Exhibition worth visiting.

Such fun.

In SEO, in the Cathedral El Salvador,
it was not allowed to take any pics.
From outside that church does not reveal which
treasures it hides inside. Very impressive, indeed.

Approaching San Sebastián, you notice the change
in the landscape, everything is green!

San Sebastián. Known for the great beaches.
Here Playa de La Concha.

Sunset. One of those sunsets.

Same same but different.

Waterfront. More French than Spanish, I would say.
Everybody wants a sunset pic!

After the sunset everybody, I tell you everybody,
walks in the old town and enjoys tapas. Pintxos.
Mostly fish. Well, they look pretty.

Walk along the pedestrian area, get lost, eat a pintxo,
have a beer or wine, enjoy the atmosphere.

San Sebastián.

Nice buildings at the river.

Another day, another beaccalled Zurriola.

Behind this cultural center there is the nice beach from pic above.
Kursaal Palacio de Congresos y Auditorio.

The building has been awarded with the Contemporary
Architecture Prize Mies van der Rohe, the most important of
those awarded in Europe, due to “the exceptional character” of
the project and its “conceptual, aesthetic, technical and
constructive innovation.

People ... am not sure if this is a good thing.
Personally I prefer liquid soaps on hotels.
Really.

Unused makes a nice set of toiletry. Really.

Off we go, leaving all the unsolved soap problems in Spain.
France calling: Biarritz!

Surfers' paradise.

On this Sunday also runners' paradise.
If you like marathon.

We are at the Atlantic Ocean.
At this time of the day the low tide was remarkable.

Runners.

Surfers.

The market hall was open on Sunday.
We only brought some cheese and baguette.
And continued our tour.

Biarritz is a city on the Bay of Biscay, on the Atlantic coast
in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the French Basque
Country in southwestern France. It is located 35 kilometres
from the border with Spain. It is a luxurious seaside
tourist destination known for the Hôtel du Palais (originally
built for the Empress Eugénie circa 1855), its casinos
in front of the sea and its surfing culture. (Wikipedia)
