NEW: even more fast food!

NEW: local Kalorienbomben!

NEW: despite corona the streets are full of people!

NEW: like it used to be, on Tuesdays, with masks today.

NEW: Art Gallery Studio25.

NEW: Mrs Sturm's print works in the gallery.

Not new: the best cortado in town. Geheimtipp.
Cafe Almudaina.

And now the boring part.

In our garden the acca tree has started to blossom.

As well as Buddha's Hand lemon tree.

Time to cut down the daisies!

Mercat d'Artà

 °

Dienstag = Markttag in Artá.
Heute dürften die Gemüseverkäufer wieder in die
Markthalle.

Sorry, this is an insider posting, for all who have visited Artá.
Toripäivän kuvat ehkä kiinnostaa teitä, jotka olette olleet
mukava vilinässä ja jonottamassa kanatiskillä.

Nur der Hähnchenverkäufer darf noch nicht rein.

Interessante Farbe am Boden. Und noch glänzend.

Sommerlicher Markttag am 6. April 2021.

Nicht ganz so voll wie üblich im Sommer.
Und alle tragen Masken. Gut so.

Mallorca before the next lockdown

°

You have to visit Artá on a Tuesday, the market day.

Today all coffee houses were full of people.
Especially this one where the local pensioners meet.
They have their clubhouse at the end of the market square.
Social distance? Well, they did keep kind of a distance.
As of tomorrow all coffee houses, bars and restaurants
will be closed until the end of January.
Let's see if the corona statistics get better.

In Artá this guy is welcoming travelers next to the local
Guardia Civil. Every year he gets this costume in January
when the big party celebrations take place: Sant Antoni.
Wood is burned in the town, people start partying already
inn the morning. Last year I was able to attend:

And was really looking forward to this year's celebrations
which are not going to happen. Thanks to corona.
Check this, this is how the party goes normally.
Would you think people would keep social distance
on a traditional day like this ...?
Let's just face it, party is cancelled, let's wait for the next year.

"El Ajuntament d'Artà y la Obreria suspenden las fiestas de
Sant Antoni por responsabilidad"

"Alle Feierlichkeiten zu Sant Sebastià und Sant Antoni untersagt"

But I still can recommend Mallorca in the wintertime.
Great walks in the gardens.

Fantastic sunsets at the seaside.

Keep your camera always with you.

And admire ambitious architecture!
Seen in Betlem. Mallorca.
