Collapse in Casal Solleric

°
Casal Solleric is an exhibition hall in the Palma city center.
Absolutely top location, at the end of the pedestrian street
Passeig del Born and next to the square with the obelisk,
Plaça Del Rei Joan Carles I.

Such a pretty building, too.

Yesterday I visited this place for the very first time.

I was impressed by the beauty of this old building.

I was impressed that there were hardly any other people around.

I was impressed how much space was given to this artist,
the exhibition rooms in the first floor are huge.

I was impressed how my companion totally got confused
and hurried out of this place.

I am impressed now at home reading the text sheet
to the exhibition, how everything is explained in
words of philosophy, physchology, referring to names like
Kafka, Gilles Deleuz, Félix Guattari, Michel Foucault,
Marcel Duchamp, Samuel Beckett, Antonin Artraud ...

This pic is in the text sheet.

"Morey's work both critiques and embodies one of the most thorny
and far reaching aspects of human consciousness and behavior: how we
relate to others, as the oppressed or the oppressor."

Well.

For a visitor from the street this exhibition definitely lets you forget
the sunny island and turquoise waters around ... There are black and
white video installations showing extracts of kind of sad-maso action,
there are show cases full of black and white objects from nail polish to
... objects I do not regognize.

In the basement there is a warning sign that the exhibition
includes some sexual sceneries.
Well, it definitely does. And a lot of noise, too!

Joan Morey
COLLAPSE: Bachelor Machine
first retrospective of Joan Morey in his native Mallorca,
born 1972 in Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.

Morey’s performances focus on concepts such as perversion,
dependence, fear, nihilism, rebellion and tedium.

I do not know what the City of Palma wants to say
with this this very extraordinary, daring show.
Weg von Ballermann, Pervoparties calling?
Hello?
At least the entrance is free.
And there are two other, smaller exhibits running as well.

PS. I'll visit the exhibition again and take more pics!

Hot Hot Balloon

°
Life on the island.
Visitors, every now and then.
Sunday afternoon: Kaffee und Kuchen.

Those cups do not match the unokko table cloth, not at all.

But who cares when visitors bring ensaimada con cremates
and self baked chocolate banana cake!
Again a very nice afternoon practicing Spanish.
Majorquin language comes later, much later.

Show time!
It is amazing how clearly you can hear those balloons approaching.
And they want to land on your property. Why not!

Perfect landing.

Yes, of course, I can make photos.

Looks cool inside.

So all pax out of the hing and then a maneuver ...

... so that the balloon can "rest".

Like this detail.

There it lies, the balloon. It takes some time to squeeze it
all together and pack it into a bag. All pax had to help.
And I was told that whenever want to have ride, just mention
that they used our campo as "Landeplatz" and we'll
get a discount. Hm. HM?!
I think I found the company in internet:

Today we had another summer day.
The waiter was a bit amused as we asked for the sunscreen!
But really, it got totally hot.

Porcella Day

°
Special lunch today: porcella.

And we tried the piglets here: Rancho Grande.

The Ranch is famous for its black pigs. We are one of the biggest black Pig

farmers on the whole Mallorca. So in our Mini Zoo there is always a couple
of pig mothers with their little piglets. Raised in the farm of the Ranch following
the procedures of extensive livestock, the Mallorcan suckling pig can be tasted
any day of the week.

Rancho also has many horses, offers tours.

Here our 1,5 piglets. VERY tasty!

We, 10 people, did not manage to finish all.
Yes, doggy bags allowed.

Look at the colors of these birds!

Such colour combinations.

No, they cannot fly away.
Let's hope they are doing fine,
There were also peacocks, turkeys, ducks ... you just name it.

Even a black swan.

Gracias Mi and Lo for including me in this funny lunch
with your Mallorcan friends.

Year of the rat

°
People, you remember SonServera as our everlasting
new year's party location.
Been there also on many Fridays visiting the street market.
And only today found this sculpture.

Found the story in English, as well:

The story tells us that in the month of May 1820 a ship that had set sail from
Tangiers moored off our coast to bury a member of its crew who had died in
mysterious circumstances. They buried him in the sand on the beach and covered
him with a cloak. The curse came about when a short time later a local man
passed by and, seeing the cloak, picked it up and put it on to protect himself
from the damp of the night. He died the next day and within a short time
another 50 people were dead.

Read the whole story here:

The Year of the Metal Rat comes right after the Year of the Earth Pig (2019)
and before the Year of the Metal Ox (2021)

According to the 2020 Chinese horoscope, the Lunar New Year starts on Saturday,
January 25th and ends on February 11th, 2021. The Rat is the first sign from the 12
animals cycle of the Chinese Astrology, and for this reason, 2020 is considered
a year of new beginnings and renewals.

Another story: lost this key in the beginning of January.
Found it today. Well, basically too late, had to  buy a new lock.

These wild beauties appear now.

Yellow is THE colour of spring!

Surrealistic.

A quick check by Wikipedia:
Surrealism is a cultural movement that started in 1917, and is best known for its
visual artworks and writings. Artists painted unnerving, illogical scenes,
sometimes with photographic precision, creating strange creatures from
everyday objects, and developing painting techniques that allowed the
unconscious to express itself. Its aim was, according to Breton, to
"resolve the previously contradictory conditions of dream and reality into
an absolute reality, a super-reality", or surreality.

Works of surrealism feature the element of surprise, unexpected juxtapositions
and non sequitur; however, many surrealist artists and writers regard their work
as an expression of the philosophical movement first and foremost, with the
works themselves being an artifact. Leader André Breton was explicit in his
assertion that Surrealism was, above all, a revolutionary movement.

The exhibition lasts until 24.5.2020.
