Mallorca is now on the level 4.

These measures start on Tuesday 15.12. and will last until December 28.

Here are the measures:

1. Meetings of maximum of six people, inside and out.

2. Insides of bars and restaurants closed.

3. Bar and restaurant terraces to close at 10p.m. except on Fridays, Saturdays 

and the eve of public holidays when it will be at 6p.m.

4. You can still smoke as long as you respect social distancing and you are static.

5. Big stores will have to reduce their capacity to 30 percent 

(One person per 10 square metres).

6. Theatres and auditoriums at 50 percent capacity.

7. Churches at 25 percent capacity.

8. Gyms 30 percent of capacity and only six people per class.

9. After school activities suspended.

10. Curfew at 10pm until 6am.

Palma is always worth a visit.

Well, Palma Bread is a dangerous place ...

the traditional Swedish cinnamon rolls just scream after you.

Such a jolly snack.

I finally had time to pop in to this FINNISH BAR in Palma.

Since ages Pia and Pepe are running this place.

Now, during the corona times they also provide the local Finns

with Finnish products like salmiakki, hapankorppu and other stuff.

I might have bought the mustard but they did not have it, yet.

Tuulikannel?

Tuulikannel on vanha kielisoitin, jonka suunnikkaanmuotoisen kaikupohjan päälle 

on viritetty kieliä. Sitä kutsutaan joskus myös aioloksenharpuksi, koska Aiolos 

on kreikkalaisessa mytologiassa tuulten haltija. Se ripustettiin paikkaan, jossa 

ilmavirta sai kielet soimaan. Sitä on keskiajalla sanottu noituuden välikappaleeksi.

Finnisch für Anfänger:

TUULIKANNEL = Äolsharfe / Aeolian harp

TUULI = Wind / wind

KANNEL, KANTELE = Kastenzither /plucked string instrument

It is not even a "poronkusema" from the Finnish bar to this view.

Up in the hill there is Bellver Castle.

Yes, been there a couple of times but it is always great to look down 

to the city of Palma.

in one of Palma's traditional coffee bar we made a p-break.

In the ladies' room there were three cabins.

One of them was okay, the middle one closed and

check the third cabin, hello, what happened there???

This is also Palma, the charming old town.

It is really charming, with the old houses, narrow streets.

Keep your eyes open for everything!

Such a nice day yesterday, weatherwize and otherwise as well.

Church of our Lady of Sorrows.

The church of our Lady of Sorrows has been very important place in the 

Islamic period. The construction started right after the Catalan conquest 

of Mallorca. It was built on the site of the town’s former mosque and 

has a Gothic and neo-Gothic style.

The church tower you can see from all over when approaching 

this second largest city in Mallorca.

Hello, mellow ... little green bottles. How creative!

Behind the xmas star is a statue of Mr. Antoni Alcover.

Father Antoni Maria Alcover i Sureda, also known (in Catalan) as Mossèn Alcover

(2 February 1862 in Santa Cirga, Manacor – 8 January 1932 in Palma)

was a modernist Majorcan writer, who wrote on a wide range of subjects 

including the Catholic Church, folklore and linguistics. He is chiefly associated 

with efforts to revive interest in the Catalan language and its dialects. Among 

his works was a Catalan-Valencian-Balearic dictionary. (Wiki)

This things also looks pretty good.

All the "trees" are decorated with these paper "stars" this year.

Here the main tree at the Palça del Conqueridor.

Sorry folks, even in the evening light this tree just ... sucks.

The paper decoration has been pulled together by the wind.

As such not bad.

Well, next year new ideas, hopefully!

Ja, ich lese regelmässig einige deutschsprachige Zeitungen

auf der Insel. In El Aviso fand ich diese Anzeige.

Zwei Mal Bratwurst-Spezialitäten! Guten Appetit.

In der gleichen Publikation war ich etwas erstaunt als gleich

auf der dritten Seite frohe Weihnachten  mit einer Anzeige

von einem Bestattungsinstitut Werbung gemacht wird.

Just wondering if this project is finished.

Traditionally the city of Artá has a Christmas tree in the middle

of the main square, Plaça del Conqueridor during the festive season.

Yes, look carefully, there it is, in the sun.

Decorated by stars (?). Well, there are some wires, so I definitely

have to come down town again after sunset.

Because ... in the daylight something got lost.

Christmas decoration?

Akkurat geschnitten!

Ich hätte ein Paar Äste mitnehmen sollen, am 4.12. ist ja Barbaratag!

Barbarazweige sind Zweige von Obstbäumen, die nach einem alten Brauch 

am 4. Dezember, dem liturgischen Gedenktag der hl. Barbara in der 

römisch-katholischen und der griechisch-orthodoxen Kirche (Barbaratag), 

geschnitten und in einer Vase in der Wohnung aufgestellt werden. Je nach 

Gegend und Brauchtum werden Kirsch-, Apfel-, Birken-, Haselnuss-, 

Rosskastanien-, Pflaumen-, Holunder-, Rotdorn- oder Forsythienzweige 

zur Treiberei verwendet. Sie sollen bis zum Heiligen Abend blühen und 

zum Weihnachtsfest die Wohnung schmücken. (Wiki)
