Atlantic coast

°

Yes indeed, we visited France, how lovely is that then.

Well, lovely is definitely something else.
On arrival it rained a bit and the winds from
the Bay of Biscay were quite strong and cold.

Nevertheless, you forget the weather when you see the charming bakeries.

This tiny town Saint-Gilles-Crois-de-Vie had its nice corners.

This is also so typical for the Atlantic coast.

Finnisch für Anfänger:

NOUSUVESI = Flut / rising tide
LASKUVESI = Ebbe / low tide

A bookshop. Really? Yes, there still are bookshops
in France. How lovely!

Seen in the town.

Had to post this also in the social media.
Pretty cool.
"If you take over my handicap
I give you my parking space"

Decoration, yes, French.

Basically the town is quite ... basic.

In the Ibis hotel the breakfast was served ... without plates.
Corona problem? Who knows.

In this area there is the Beneteau company building yachts.
My hubby had some ... business there.

The fun part was the visit to the boat factory!
In the factory you had to wear security things on your shoes.
On a boat you needed just light plastic covers.

After the factory tour we had time for an excursion to
Les Sables d'Olonne, the town where the Vendeée Globe
staets, the boat ride around the world.
In the pic the charming church square.

This castle we have to visit next time.
Or, maybe there is no next time, I think the next destination
could be La Rochelle. Have heard it's pretty.

New some language studies.
whelks and winkles???

Whelk (also known as scungilli)  is a common name that is
applied to various kinds of sea snail

The common periwinkle or winkle (Littorina littorea) is a species of
small edible whelk or sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusc that has
gills and an operculum, and is classified within the family Littorinidae,
the periwinkles. (Wiki)

Tiny night market in the tiny town. Unfortunately,
the weather was very windy.

Really? REALLY?
No, no, no, we did not try to buy bread here!
