Today started with an exotic fruit.
Inga sapindoides
Inga sapindoides is a medium-sized tree growing up to 25 metres tall.
The plant is gathered from the wild for its edible seeds and pulp in the seedpod,
which are sometimes sold in local markets. The tree is also widely used as shade
tree in coffee plantations in Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico.
Well well well, very interesting indeed.
Looks like ... cotton wool. But hey, tastes good!
The seeds I did not eat.
Could be ... anything.
Our precious garden helper planted some seeds last year
and now we have quite many sweet little trees.
Must admit, the cold winter in Mallorca has been hard
for such exotic plants. Let's see what happens.
Inga sapindoides ist heimisch von Mexiko über die Antillen bis nach
Venezuela und Peru, sie besiedelt dort Wälder des Tieflands. (Wiki)
Let's hope that I soon can add a bright yellow point
on the island of Majorca!!!
😁
In Bolivia it's called PACAY.
