Gènova

°

 Another mountain conquered!

In this pic you can just see the Burg Bellver from where you
can have a splendid view over Palma.

But if you take the motors a bit further away towards Andratx,
you can have more than a splendid view over the whole island!
Check the signs for Gènova and drive up the hill until Burguesa.

There she is, the lady of Peace,
Nuestra Señora de la Paz.
Must say, once you have made it half way up the hill
you cannot really see the high positioned lady at all.

llamado Sarasate (1915-1990).

Well, you can see her from the back, when
hiking through the forest.

Serra de Na Burguesa (Balearic Catalan pronunciation: formerly
Serra de Portopí or Sierra de Porto Pi, meaning "Port of Pine Mountain")
is a well-defined mountain on the island of Majorca (WIKI here and there)

Serra de Na Burguesa, honors Francesc Burgués, the Solicitor-General
of the Spanish Crown, who, from the early sixteenth century, owned the Bendinat
farm at the foot of the mountain. Bendinat is now a residential zone in Calvià.

A lot of pine trees all over.
BUT
beware of the procesionares!

The larval stage of some Thaumetopoeinae are known as processionary caterpillars,
so named because they move in columns in search of food, resembling a procession.
Some of the species, like the pine and oak processionaries, can constitute a health
hazard due to their urticating hairs.
Dear Wikipedia: urticating?

NOKKOSROKKO = Nesselsucht / urticaria

To have or produce a stinging sensation, as of nettles or urticating hair.

Very decorative.

Really, you should avoid touching those beasts!
For dogs it's even worse.
Lucky me, don't own a dog. Yet.

Mallorca.
