Und Teneriffa sonst?

°

This was my third trip to Tenerife.

Empty streets: lunch time, siesta time!

Otherwise La Laguna, next to Santa Cruz, is pretty crowed even
during these Corona times.

Local food. Not my choice.

Panorama view from our hotel El Tope in Puerto de la Cruz.
If you choose this accommodation, try to get one of these
corner rooms, the views are really nice.

Our friends have this amazing view from their roof terrace.

Local food again, kind of liked that zucchini, fried in slices.

Again, view from our hotel.
The view towards volcano Teide.

Its summit (at 3,718 m (12,198 ft)) is the highest point in Spain
and the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic.

If measured from the ocean floor, it is at 7,500 m (24,600 ft) the
fourth-highest volcano in the world, and is described by UNESCO
and NASA as Earth's third-tallest volcanic structure. (Wiki)

The city beach in Puerto de la Cruz.

Ist das Kunst oder kann es weg ...?
Well, this happens when you take off your shirt, put it next
to the sink in the bathroom and pick it up again in 10 minutes.
Hm? Maybe due to corona the bathrooms are cleaned with
very effective stuff, corrosive ... and if the surface is not dried
thoroughly you can see the result above.

Yes, there is also a tiny town called Cruz Santa!

Balcony design.

How lucky can you be when traveling with locals.
You are able to visit local homes.

This dining room used to be the stables.

And check this: they have special cupboards for dishes!

Amazing.

You can purchase those cupboards today, too.

Germans would call this: Bausünde.

An eyesore is something that is largely considered to look unpleasant or ugly.
Its technical usage is as an alternative perspective to the notion of landmark.
Wikipedia.

Visiting Santa Cruz, the biggest town on the island,
we just could not get rid of this Bausünde picture.
Bausünden all over the town.
But at least this pretty flowering tree in the old town.

All over Tenerife you can see the awesome trees!

The intensity of the red flowers is fascinating.
My plant identification tells me this is an African tuliptree.
Spathodea

Der Afrikanische Tulpenbaum (Spathodea campanulata) ist eine Pflanzenart
aus der Gattung Spathodea innerhalb der Familie der Trompetenbaumgewächse
(Bignoniaceae). (Wiki)

Finnisch für Anfänger:

TULPPAANITRUMPETTI = Afrikanischer Tulpenbaum / African tuliptree
TULPPAANI = Tulpe / tulip
TRUMPETTI = Trompete / trumpet

In Puerto de la Cruz you just have to walk along here!

And helft to yell my tourism colleagues!
Here the "Monumento al turista".

Have you ever seen the streets of Puerto de la Cruz so empty?

And the beaches as well.

But at times there was some action in the sky!

Such fun!
No, we did not do that.

Local products. Again: no, NO! I did not buy and eat. NO!!!

We did buy one of these. Tried it three days later.
To find no taste but a lot of colour!

The colour is similar to red beet. But even red beet has more taste.

Rush hour in the surfers's bay.

Check the waves!

Fashionista on a board ... plumber's crack!
Germans say: Maurerdekolletee/Klempnerspalte.

Työmiehen aurinko! Kun housut roikkuu ja kumartuu eteenpäin,
takaapäin katsovalle näkyy työmiehen aurinko, eli persvako pilkistää.

A lot of action in Tenerife!

Such a nice combo for my flight: 11.11.
I do like to travel around my birthday.
