Hurden und Rapperswil

 °

Long weekend in Switzerland.

Such fun: we were invited to a birthday party 50+50.
Such fun to have such young friends!
Party location Hurden. Well, well, google maps can help there.

This peninsula is at the most narrow area of the lake Zurich.
There is a Seedamm from the tip of the peninsula with a
bridge for cars and trains towards Rapperswil.

Nice walking ways for pedestrians as well.

Birds love this area of the lake.

And look at this wooden bridge!

On 6 April 2001 the reconstructed wooden footbridge was opened alongside
the Seedamm. It was built within nine months in quite the same place as the
original neolithic and medieval bridges linking Rapperswil with the nearby
bridge chapel (Heilig Hüsli) built in 1551.

The bridge has a length of 841 metres, is 2.4 metres wide,
and its path is 1.5 metres above mean water level. (Wikipedia)

And there is Rapperswil.

Rapperswil has surprisingly big train station.

Such a pretty square.

In the white building at the pretty square there is a bar called: KOIVU.

Finnisch für Anfänger:

KOIVU = Birke / birch

And yes, they do offer korvapuustis!
And no, there is no Finn behind this bar,
it is a Swiss guy who happens to love Nordic food.

Well, this is a proof of the prices in Switzerland.
Of course, I do not know how much flour, butter, sugar and cinnamon cost,
not speaking about electricity costs and rentals nowadays.
But hello, 5 Euros for one korvapuusti?

For me numer 11 is always essential.
Such a pretty beer bar.

But also my other half would like Rapperswil.

This is one of the pretty houses in Repperswil.
Worth a visit, people.
