Time to say goodbye to 2021.

Here some kitsch photos of our boring garden.

The weather was just FANTASTIC the last days.

Sunny days woke up the almond trees. Our first blossom on xmas Eve.

Same same but different after a couple of days.

This ... is a pretty artsy impression of ...

.... this little flower.

My favourite shot.

And, of course, playing with it.

Here you have the real boring shot showing how many

flowers there already are. A bit early.

Let's hope that winter is not bringing any frosty  nights

in the new year, January can be cold in Mallorca.

In the corner of our pergola these yellow flowers are coming out strong.

One of my future projects is to create a cactus garden.

Have collected some cuttings already.

It took a few years to get the hibiscus plants going in the courtyard.

Our two orange trees carry a heavy duty!

The morning dew could be still seen on our campo at noon.

But lucky us, in the capital Palma there was nothing to be seen,

a fog cloud was covering the the west side of the island.

It got a bit foggy, indeed.

Hopefully the fog will move away and we can enjoy further on

of the warm sunny days on the island.

Sineu is a Majorcan town in the very middle of the island.

It is well known for its Wednesday market.

The town’s biggest treasure is its history. For forty years – from 1309 

until 1349 – Sineu was the capital of Majorca. At the time king Jaume II 

ordered that the royal residence should be within easy reach of all 

citizens and Sineu in the centre of Majorca was just the right place. 

When the king also granted the village market rights, Sineu became 

the centre for business and trade. Today the Wednesday market is 

still the biggest farmers’ market on the island.

Should I ever buy any birds for my garden ... these funky guys would do.

The local dog club is presenting their special dogs.

Wikipedia knows:

The Ca Rater Mallorquí or Spanish: Ratonero mallorquínis used on the 

island of Mallorca to hunt rats and rabbits. It is a good watchdog, 

and a good companion animal.

Kids love this opportunity to ride a pony!

Sineu market, one of the oldest in Mallorca, with over 700 years of 

history, instituted by Jaime II of Mallorca in 1306, was the main market

for trading of the farmers of the island for centuries. Market Sineu is one of 

the busiest, is held every Wednesday of the year, has its loyal following of 

Mallorca, country people and tourists, is the only one sale of live animals, 

especially indigenous breeds of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza .

Nevertheless, I still do think that the market in Artá is better.

Sineu is littered with interesting architecture, but the cream of the crop 

is definitely the parish church.

Food for Christmas

Christmas Eve. 

Traditional German meal for the Heiliger Abend served in Mallorca.

Traditional Finnish meal served in Mallorca,

exceptionally on Christmas Day.

Even Wikipedia knows the Finnish Christmas food:

The main dish is usually a large Christmas ham, which is eaten with mustard. 

The ham is served with rosolli called beetroot-carrot-potatoe-salad and 

casserole (laatikko) made with swede, carrot or potato or all three 

kind of casseroles.
