You have to visit Artá on a Tuesday, the market day.
Today all coffee houses were full of people.
Especially this one where the local pensioners meet.
They have their clubhouse at the end of the market square.
Social distance? Well, they did keep kind of a distance.
As of tomorrow all coffee houses, bars and restaurants
will be closed until the end of January.
Let's see if the corona statistics get better.
In Artá this guy is welcoming travelers next to the local
Guardia Civil. Every year he gets this costume in January
when the big party celebrations take place: Sant Antoni.
Wood is burned in the town, people start partying already
inn the morning. Last year I was able to attend:
And was really looking forward to this year's celebrations
which are not going to happen. Thanks to corona.
