On February 28th the Finns celebrate their own,
very Finnish culture, on that very same day they also
honour Kalevala, the national epic of Karelia and Finland
and it happens to be the nameday of Sisu (and Onni).
Finnisch für Anfänger:
NIMIPÄIVÄ = Namenstag / nameday
SISU-radio team decided to celebrate the nameday.
Quite aggressive advertising was posted in social media.
Afternoon coffee party!
The cosy Little Finland Shop & Cafe in Hanau
was chosen as the party location.
Yes, we had quite many copies of Kalevala.
Here is the description how kantele was made. (wikipedia)
Kantele, traditional music instrument.
Josie, a German student gave us a cool performance
how kantele is played. Very cool.
Some books from my home library.
Yes, and even a local broadcasting company sent their camera
woman to make an interview and take some shots.
Annika, the friendly Finnish woman behind Little Finland,
was happy with the customers.
She also does online selling - vinkki vinkki.
