Berlin, always worth a visit.
This time had to visit the Finnish embassy
in order to renew my passport.
in order to renew my passport.
Unfortunately the weather was pretty rainy and stormy.
Taking pictures is not only challenging
but it is pretty hard, holding a camera and an umbrella.
Just round the corner of the Nordic embassies
there is, look look, the Luxembourgish embassy.
In quite a nice company.
And cross the street the Chinese cultural center.
Icelandic exhibition in the Nordic embassy exhibition area.
Just realized: these city maps were folded when transported to Berlin
and apparently not ironed before hanging on the wall ...
My initials seen my an Icelandic artist.
Seen in Prenzlauer Berg in the evening.
Next time have to go in there during the day time.
The building is set on the Pfefferberg, the premises of a former brewery,
located at Christinenstraße 18 in Prenzlauer Berg in the Berlin district of Pankow.
The grounds were developed in 1848 for the Pfefferberg Brewery,
and have a variegated history. Accommodated in the buildings
– most of them enjoying protected landmarks status –
since 1990 have been cultural facilities, galleries, restaurants, and hotels.
The new museum building, designed by SPEECH in Moscow,
operated by the architects Sergei Tchoban and Sergei Kuznetsov,
lies at the entrance to the complex,
and adjoins the firewall of the protected landmarks building
located at Christinenstraße 17.
The building is conceived as a part of the "Pfefferberg" complex as a whole,
and was not erected on an individually defined parcel of land.
Snow on 31.3.15
We were not amused.
In the Finnland Institut Berlin
more snow and ice and sauna pics.
Note, no ironing done here either.
Pretty cool pics of all kinds of Finnish saunas.
Glimpse of sun in Berlin.
