Pweil xmas show time

Same procedure as every year:
Petterweil Christmas Party
with family and friends.

On stage the Schmitt Kids.
Funny as every year!

Basti the playwriter in action with his sisters & mum.
Daddy in the kitchen taking care of the dinner ... yammy yam!

After so many Christmas activities one starts thinking of other religions ...
well, thinking ... , or ... just making fun with new accessories!
THANX Petterweil!!!

The best present seen at this xmas: scratch map!

"Scratch Map is brilliant!
Its the perfect way to show off where you've been travelling
while livening up your wall with a colourful world map."

Available in UK, USA but also in internet via usual suspects.
Such a great gift especially for all the people in the travel industry!

Joulu on taas

So, this is Christmas ...
as every year. For kids a very exciting time.
This little angel was one of our hosts in Saarbrücken.

The best nanny: iPad.

Kindergottesdienst in SB-Sankt Arnual.

"Die gotische Stiftskirche aus dem 13. Jh.
zählt zu den bedeutendsten Baudenkmälern im südwestdeutschen Raum."

The yellow angel on the left belongs to family.

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings, These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels, Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings, These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes, Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs, These are a few of my favorite things"

Mary Anouk Poppins with her Augsburg umbrella!

Sporty present: vawe board. Pretty difficult.
For all readers over 10 years old: read more in:

Disappointment of this Christmas:
pre-baked, pre-prepared Christmas ham,
extra exported from Finland by me.
Absolutely not recommended. Even the picture came out dizzy.
People, if you fancy good xmas meat stick to the old fashioned "joulukinkku"!

Finnisch für Anfänger:

JOULU = Weihnachten/Christmas
KINKKU = Schinken/Ham (chick in US slang ...)

Gott sei Dank hat Bärbel superleckere Entenkeulen gemacht.

Iloista joulunjatkoa!

Pre xmas HEL

The Dome.
City of Helsinki.

Tuomaan markkinat.
Helsinki Christmas Market.
Nice historical surroundings, indeed.

Helsinki cannot really compete with Vienna
when it comes to Christmas lights ...

Shopping Avenue Aleksi.

Keskuskatu - Central Street.
From Stockmans department store to the main railway station.

Looking forward to seeing all these city center areas next year
when Helsinki is the WORLD DESIGN CAPITAL!

read more already now:

as seen and heard in the xmas party of the Handelsgilde.
Thanks guys, you did a GREAT job AGAIN!

Rahapuu kukkii!

Crassula ovata,
commonly known as jade plant, friendship tree, lucky plant or Money Plant.
Blossoming just now!
Maybe that is why I was lucky last nite and won a basket full of Finnish goodies
at the raffle of the xmas party of the Finnisch-Deutsche Handelsgilde!

More Vienna

Roof of St. Stephen's Cathedral
Initials of Kaiser Franz I 1831.

Entrance to St. Stephen's Cathedral at nite.

My first exhibition visit: Magritte.

Finnisch für Anfänger:
SURREALISTINEN = surrealistisch/surrealistic

Fashion in Fiaker business - red.

Fashion in Fiaker business - blue.

Wall decoration in the game lounge of our hotel.
Nor only decoration, just pick up and play!

Actually the hotel is a "Geheimtipp"
But if you book it let them know that you got the name from Oderazzi.
Maybe I'll get commission. HAH!

Action at Donaukanal ... the ball fell into the water ...

... somehow it kept on floating on the side ...

... so that the boys could catch it again!

Hundertwasserhaus Kunsthaus Wien
with Fotoexhibition Henri Cartier-Bresson.
Worth seeing, runs until 26.2.2012.

Finnisch für Anfänger:
Kapakala = Stockfisch/stockfish
as seen in Naschmarkt.

The coolest xmas market in front of the Museumsquartier.

As if there is no other place to enjoy Wienerschnitzel ...?
Every afternoon and evening a long line in front of Figlmüller.

No snow in Vienna?
Check the art exhibition Winterlandschaften
in the "Kunsthistorisches Museum"
with jewels like winter scenes of Pieter Bruegel ... the elder one ...

Let it snow let it snow let it snow!

Kein Zutritt ...?
Doch, wenn du von SISU-radio bist!

Thanks guys, Tuomas ja Pope, was nice meeting you,
interview will be on air on Sunday, 18.12.

Maybe because my expectations were not so high ...

Leningrad Cowboys did a GREAT job!
It was an awesome show.
The band knows how to take the audience.
Batschkapp was crowded and the crowd was happy.
People, if you have the chance, go and see them.
No, they do not sing in Finnish...
... only a few words in that old song "suuri ja mahtava Neuvostoliitto ..."

And Kirsi got the autogrammes,
this old book is anyway a rare copy.

Listen to SISU on Sunday:

Oden kalenteri

Noch vier Mal.
Four more to go.
sitten loppu.

Es weihnachtet in Wien

Christmas lights in Vienna
as seen during the weekend.

Vienna - world city.

City of Christmas lights.

Kind of royal atmosphere.

Windy but sparkling.

Historical environment.

Touch of luxury.

Looks like Manhattan...

City of angels?

American feeling.

Even the leaves get bigger.

Red dotted trees. And so much more at Rathaus.

Christmas markets in every square.

Mighty night.

Vienna for lovers.

In daylight a bit grey.

Kind of traditional.

White lites.

Absolutely coolest xmas market at Museumsquartier.
Half a dozen plastic containers.
Click here for further info of the coolest art area:

iFoto after jazz club "zwe".
Xmas tree house.
At Donau Kanal - Vienna has her ugly sides as well.

Kaffee Stadt Wien.
More Vienna to follow.
