Corona cakes

°
Oh Lord what it takes
when Oderazzi bakes
how the virus us shakes
out come the cakes

Finnisch für Anfänger:

SITRUUNAKAKKU = Zitronenkuchen / lemoncake

I tell you, these are the challenges living abroad:
flowerpower.

Spanisch for bakers:

HARINA = Mehl / flower / jauho

Jauhoja on siinä monenlaista, mooneenlaaistaa
Uunikaan ei kaikkee oikein paista, oiikeein paaistaa.

And look at this: my hubby is specialized in baking bread.

Using his favourite pot: the Finnish Gusseisentopf designed by Sarpaneva
in the year 1959. Also in the collections of MoMa NYC.

Sarpaneva’s cast-iron casserole has become an iconic work of organic design.

It is one of several objects that represent his interest in multipurpose kitchenwares
that could be used in the oven, on the stovetop, and at the table (...).

I especially like idea of the wooden handle:

The teak handle allows one-handed transportation and, when removed,

inserts into the lid for opening.

The same procedure as every year:
orange marmalade, jam, whatever.

It takes quite a long time, so listening to Spanish news.
That coffee maker is such a crappy machine but
here it serves the purpose!

Done.

Surprise, surprise, this is the next load.
And the rest still hanging in the trees!

Bohnen ... Bohnen ... Bohnen ...

This year the beans are not growing so high as in the last years.
but the harvest of beans is again amazing.
On the right hand side the sweet peas!

These you boil a couple of minutes and then you peal them.
Yes, each one, one by one.
Can be done when watching tv.

Then you mix the pealed beans with some ripe avocados
and enjoy the kind of guacamole without any onion stuff.
With self-made bread.

Why am I posting these things with food?
Because it is something new for me, cooking.
But it still will take quite a long time until I really
get enthusiastic about food and making it.
Corona might be helpful in this.
And anyways: making photos is the best part.

Such a shame, in January we got a new, big and fat guest book
and now nobody can visit us.
So at least I had to add a corona virus into the book.

Inspired by my drawing ... Corona "bacon and eggs"by hubby.

Garden products!

More, I want more of these!

Finnisch für Anfänger:

UNIKKO = Mohn / poppy

Yes, rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.
Finally we get the rain, February was far too dry.

People, stay home, stay healthy!
