Spanish show cooking

If you want to watch something really disgusting ...

watch this program starting at 2:45 minutes,
that is where the "fun" part begins :

https://www.rtve.es/alacarta/videos/masterchef/programa-1/5837955/

Here a few screenshots to show what's going on.

I tell you, it's fun to watch but I would never touch ...

Finnisch für Anfänger:

ANKERIAS = Aal / eel / anguilla

Did you know:

The European eel is a critically endangered species. Since the 1970s,
the numbers of eels reaching Europe is thought to have declined by around
90% (possibly even 98%). Contributing factors include overfishing, parasites
such as Anguillicola crassus, barriers to migration such as hydroelectric dams,
and natural changes in the North Atlantic oscillation, Gulf Stream, and
North Atlantic drift. Recent work suggests polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)
pollution may be a factor in the decline. (wikipedia)

Sinivalkoinen

Those blue and white moments.

Welcome friends, lunch is served!
Tablecloth by the Finnish company marimekko,
the blue and white coloring matches pretty well with
the Majorcan blue and white theme ikat.

Pillows match together. Even though the unikko pattern is
already faded in the sun and the fake ikat pillowcases
never had the bright blue colours. But for our summerhouse
terrace this combo is just perfect.

The “Cloth of Tongues” is based in the technique of the ikat.
These fabrics are originally from the ancient East, from where
they came to Mallorca along the Silk route. The old Majorcan
ikat is a very versatile and strong fabric that presents the very
same pattern on both sides.

This textile shop close to Pollença is really worth visiting.

Unikko (poppy), symbolizing creativity, was born in a time when hardly
any floral designs were included in Marimekko’s collections.

This year marimekko celebrates its 70th anniversary.

Breaking news: co-operation with Adidas starting soon.
Well, just wondering what kind of sports are you
supposed to practice wearing that huge , b&w dress?
Good luck to both companies, maybe this sells.

Artsy ideas combining unikko and kastehelmi.
With Layout App.

Kastehelmi (“dewdrop” in Finnish) draws inspiration from dewdrops
glistening like a string of pearls under the morning sun and refers to the
circles of delicate bubbles in the pressed glass that give each piece in
the collection its distinct character. Originally designed by Oiva Toikka
in 1964, the Kastehelmi series was relaunched in 2010. Toikka came up
with the idea to use droplets of glass as decoration when trying to find a way
to hide joint marks left in the production process. The result was a unique
design that features rings of tiny glass bubbles that extend outwards
from the center of each piece.

Sa Bassa Blanca in May

 °

My second visit to Museo Sa Bassa Blanca, msbb.

You have to register for the guided tour through the house.
Lucky us, we got a private tour, early birds.
My posting is only a glimpse into this awesome place,
please do check the website, too, it is pretty well done.

Thanks to Facebook I got this photo of the founders,
Yannick and Ben Jakober, in front of the newest Photo
in the exhibition.

In the entrance hall this guy is greeting the visitors.

Nowadays the whole building is filled with art,
paintings, sculptures, furniture.

There are also two underground galleries,
Aljub Nins hosts a huge collection of children's portraits.

Not every child is pictured as a pretty baby!

The main building is designed by an Egyptian architect:
Hassan Fathy, 1900-1989.

He was already 78 years old and had never built anything in Western
Europe when he drew up the plans of the Hispano Moresque building,
which he called a “ribat”, retaining only the outside walls of an existing
farmhouse of the property. White crenellated walls, traditional vaults and
domes
punctuate the otherwise flat terraces of the edifice surrounding
a central courtyard
with gardens and fountains.
Most windows are
covered
by
wooden lattices
called “Mashrabiyas" and the doors and
floor tiling are antique elements
brought from Andalusia,
Northern Spain and Morocco.

And more art all over the property.
Art also in that tower, check the following pics.

Those arstits have been collecting a lot of plastic rubbish!

The installation is placed in a former nineteenth century water windmill,
now deprived of its blades.
The mill is transformed into a temple and reliquary, where the visitor
sees his own reflection and can think about the essential necessity of
recycling. In Europe alone, we produce around 25 million tons of
plastic waste a year, that even China does not want to take any more.
The environment is today’s biggest issue for humanity.

Another recycled work of art, mainly plastic corks.

And here again, recycled.

Many paintings in the collection origin from Africa and Australia.

This fascinated me, it's like zentangle.

Here a detail.

And here even a more enlarged detail.

Just ... colourful and full of things.

Snakes bring luck.

The artists in this exhibition in the vast majority linked to the region of
Essaouira, (Morocco) without having received any academic or classic
training have succeeded in generating a self-taught iconography and
plasticity in their works that allow us to dream and discover a spirit
that we could call "the African sensitivity".

Domenico Gnoli.
Yannick's first husband, who died quite young, was also an artist.

Some walls are full of memories and photographs.

The old bathroom is also serving as an exposition space.

Yannick's father was a Vietnamese artist Vu Cao Dam.

The main house has this wonderful courtyard.

I do like the decoration.

Check how the sculpture is following the line of the olive trees.

Even though this spring has been unusually cold also in Mallorca,
we were too late for the roses.

Most of them were already done with flowering.
Next time have to visit Sa Bassa Blanca earlier.

It is cool to wander around the garden and admire those funny objects.

Dancing Queens? No, Little People!

Guess which animal? I do like the stone.

Well.

Sokrates is the name of the underground exhibition hall for modern art.

Mr. Sokrates watching who is going in.

Objects, sculptures, paintings, you name it.

At the exit you can see this installation.

The DOG.

Colaboración Internacional.
Well, recycled bicycles, I would say.

After three hours touring among art you have earned a nice lunch,
this restaurant of the Alcanada Golf Club as very pleasant views over
the bay of Alcudia. And good food, fantastic offer for lunch:
22€ pP (Mon-Fri) including three course menu, water and a bottle
of wine (for two persons) and the compulsory olives,
garlicmayonnaise and bread.
