Städteplanung

°
Jetzt sind die Leitplanken weg,
Platz frei für Autos.
Was denn sonst.

Berlin Berlin!

Advent Advent ein Lichtlein brennt.
Airport Office Deko.

BERLIN!
Pergamon Museum.
Remember, four weeks ago I was in Pergamon (today Bergama) ancient city.
Now I was lucky enough to visit this special panorama exhibition.
No fotos allowed.
Imagine this landscape ... 360°

For further info click i.e. hier:

Germans took most of the antique stuff from Pergamon.
They also are doing a good job exhibiting it.

The famous Pergamon Altar.

(Wikipedia)

"...the battle between the Giants and the Olympian gods
known as the Gigantomachy. (Wikipedia)
Only structures of the scenes are left.

But artists have reconstructed the scenes.
Pretty violent action.

This frieze is a one nite comic action. No violence.
Party time - Thanksgiving time!

Turkey time.

Hmmm, it cannot be from the carbage if Tilli is testing it ...
What a huge bird it was!

Here we are, ready to go.

But first the broccoli soup, with turkey decoration, what else.

Turkey Turkey Turkey served by a Turk.

... the stuffing, the sweet potatos, the beans, the cranberries ...
just name it. And eat it. It was DELICIOUS.

What actually happened to the bones?
The story never tells ...

Pumpkin cheese cake, apple tarts and chocolate brownies.
Whammmm.

This is THE Christmas market where you have to pay entrance fee.
€1.

This xmas market was nice.

Kumisaappaanheittokisa 11.11.11.

Nr 11 shows how this goes:
throw the rubber boot!
Finnish National Sport, among mobile phone throwing and wife carrying.

Read the rules and regulations in Finnish:

The English page a bit different ... Wellie Wanging ...

Ziska, the dog, cannot decide which one to carry, the boot or the ball.
Silke's first throw caught the dog, the second made more than 11 meters!

Barbara training her pet.

Bärbel, as all the girls, did more than 11 meters.

American way of throwing , well done Pam.

Romanian style á la Claudia.

Offenthaler style, slow swing, Inga go go!

Zickenkrieg - Zeit für Pause!

Evening tournament, high fly by Manne.

Gudrun from Sachsenhausen made it as well, the 11 meters.

Dutch action was not marked on the list, too bad, Marie!

Look at the swing, this is the way how the frisbee (flying disc) players do it.
And they win. With 11+11+11-1-1-1 meters (+/-).

But the boot landed outside our garden area,
as punishment Joe had to have a glass of Koskenkorva.
Kind of national vodka in Finland. Pocketwarm.

Hauptsache 11 Meter!

KIITOS!

You were wondering what was in those 11's ... potatocrisps!
Fantastic idea, thanks Stefan!
It's gonna be a crispy xmas time.

Time to get rid of the birthday decoration,
time for JOULU.
Thanks again Eppu for this rose arrangement.

LOKMA

°
LOKMA
Another Turkish delight!

Sem from the language school (where the blue sign is)
had ordered LOKMA for Friday.

These guys came with their kitchen on the wheels.

As soon as the oil was boiling the production started.

The idea is, everybody who passes by may take some.

Almost ready!
Izmirians serve lokma to honour their deceased relatives.

One more minute.

Here we go!

Even a school bus stopped and packed lokma for the kids.

Lucky us, Sem had saved some for us!

BAYRAM
is the most important Muslim celebration, feast of sacrifice,
and it happened to take place this year from the 6th to the 9th November.
We did see quite many sheep along the roads,
waiting to be sacrified. Spooky.

Swimming in Gündogan!
November? Yes, in November.

And look at the flowers.

Must admit that when the sun went down it became pretty chilly.

Looking forward to spending more sunny days in Bodrum area next year!
